Sometimes There Is Just No Words

We have had allot happen since we last blogged. Last year was a slow year in business. Cheryl's mother almost died twice in 2018 so she had to stay closer to home and couldn't book appointments in advance. When her mother declined Andrew helped care-give. Cheryl's mother passed away in February after the move. The house was getting a remodel and the fumes made it difficult as Cheryl's mom was declining so the family moved into an apartment. Let me give you the lowdown of being a realtor and a homeowner.

We lived at this home we have for sale for 20 years. We were board members of the HOA and helped rebuild the fallen HOA. We tried to sell the home many times paying a real estate agent high commission even paying them back if we pulled the listing which we did with agents we didn't feel did a good job due to much property damage and allowing a gossip party during our open house of our home about us. The last time we listed the agent made the contract to expire the same day. We wondered since Cheryl had recently had a nervous break down and her moms health was failing if God was giving us a nudge to become real estate agents. So we decided to go to school to at least sell our home.

Our goal was to sell the home and then go team truck driving. We hoped real estate would change that goal but everyone wants to be a real estate agent and market is flooded. It is a sellers market so we are just going to stick to plan working toward our own personal real estate goals. We took classes for both commercial and residential. We have been insulted and hit. We are grateful but it is time to make decisions.

We hired Poe Legacy Construction to do the remodel and took some rooms down to the stud to get rid of mold. During the remodel we gutted almost everything to start fresh. We had recalled plumbing fail during the remodel. We re-plumbed the whole home with larger pipe while the home was being remodeled to save the new owner a headache. Our hot water heater failed so we replaced that. We decided to get the roof certified and it wouldn't certify. It was determined it had only 2 years left. We decided to replace that as well to save the new homeowner a headache. We had the under the home re insulated and some ducts replace. We had the ducts vacuumed out because of the remodel. We are going half replacing a fence with the neighbor whose joining fence went down with the storm. We listed the home and received 22 bids and we didn't choose the highest bid. We chose who we thought would bless the community the most.

Now the home just finished inspection and we have to buy new windows. This is home-ownership. The landlord isn't responsible. You are. This will be the last home we own. We will rent and drive truck. Our home will be a sleeper over the road 3 weeks at a time People come and go. Many will tell you what to do as they see righteous, then tell you in the same breath they could care less if they see you again.

Cheryl does a Vlog now about being goal minded and dealing with mental health on YouTube. The Real Estate of our business will eventually broaden. We are just adding to the business with trucking. Minding our business. Here is the raw truth of homeowner-ship.

Moving Goals

2019 will be a busy but productive year.  We will be selling in 2019. Right now we are looking at what value we want in our move so we don't settle. Why move to settle? The kids are grown so we need to downsize. We will be, this week, going through our stuff preparing for a moving sale. We would like less stuff. Still would like to keep crafting supplies. Excess furniture will have to go. The next home we would like more pillows and less furniture.

We also want to look at where we will pray. What direction is our new place facing? Will it add to the quality of our prayer? Prayer is a special time.

Will we be happy and what value can we add to our community?

Could we walk more than we drive and how close is the store? Would we be able to ship daily?

Are there any arts or entertainment near? Dog parks? Is it safe to bicycle? What value will this move bring to our lives and the lives of others?

We have allot of goals for 2019. What are yours? Can we help?

2018 at a Close

This has been a busy month for us! We updated our professional photo with professional photographers.  This is the second time we have used Digishotz for our photos. The first time before we were Muslim and now updating our photos as Muslims. Both of us chose to update our photos for a new beginning. So thankful they fitted us in. We highly recommend them.

The outfit Cheryl is wearing you can buy at EastEssence. We are affiliate marketers for EastEssence.

We became members of the Diversity Committee at TPCAR. We are so grateful. We asked the members about an outreach for the Islamic Committee  and we were nominated to do the Islamic Outreach Committee. We are going to arrange some dates for meetings in the future.

We also updated our business cards for 2019.

We also donated to the coat and blanket drive with John L Scott, the food drive with the Lakewood Police Department and John L Scott...

And a few other charities. Have witnessed allot of charity from others this month. People are so awesome.

We don't celebrate the holidays. We have no opinion about the holidays other than we do not celebrate. We will however try to be as charitable as possible with what we can afford. We hope everyone has a very safe year. Call us anytime if you need us or we can help. We will let you know when we have the community meetings and home-buyer classes.

We will also discuss Islamic Financing. We are not approved Agents with Guidance Financial so you will not receive a credit using us. We will refer you to one of their agents if you choose to work with Guidance and want the credit. We will discuss Financing, building credit, renting vs buying.

Much of our social media is now @GoTeamAndersons. Follow or Like us! Message us anytime. You can even Skype us like coming to our virtual office.

Hopefully This Builds

I deleted my last post. I really don't want to look into the past unless there is some use to build myself or another up. Some say if the devil reminds you of your past, remind him of his future then they go out of their way to listen to the past. The point I was trying to make in the last post was to respect others and not call others fools. Many who are called fools are very wise and see very broad. One in particular I posted to let, hopefully, know I am not a mocker. During a time in the past when I had a nervous breakdown (I have witnesses) I remember little. I see some of the things I  posted and do not understand why I would do that. I am a very strong person who tries to not ask for allot. Both my husband and I are like that. We both have been hurt and taken advantage of. We try to remain independent and leave what is there for those who need as much as possible. I didn't see at that time I was in need when my brain decided to shut down. Thankfully my husband was willing to stay home and help our sons be there for me.

I learned to some I need to shut the door completely. I also learned I need more self respect and to limit my time with others. Many seem to get offended if you don't answer them perfectly or respond according to their demands but we are all unique individuals. I also found many things today that seem okay are not okay. I was bullied by a male homosexual before the nervous breakdown. Is that male homosexual my equal as a woman or a man? I have since stepped back. That is your life and beliefs and this is mine. I am still going to respect and love. I do need some distance in some topics. Not everything needs my mind. My mind needs to be focused on my life. I could die tomorrow and your life might be vain to me compared to my husband. Think about it before drawing offence.

As I said. My mom was given 6 months to 2 years. We have already bought burial plots. Life is precious. Respect yourself most importantly and respect others. Be kind and giving. What use is your religion if you are unloving. What use if your justice if you are unjust. I need to account and watch out for my own hypocrisies.

Muslim Holiday Thoughts

Everyone has different lives and priorities. People change when they go through or learn new things. We have made allot of changes this year. I put back on my hijab as I blogged about previously. I battled with myself in the beginning. Wondering if I should take my hijab off to fit in more and perhaps make more money, but I didn't make more money not wearing hijab. Actually, I was asked to open doors for people so they could go elsewhere and once hit by a client. When I started wearing a hijab I made more money and became more assertive. I didn't allow people to come near me who were abusive, they had to go through my husband. I questioned if some didn't want to work with me for being muslim when one client refused to use us and said what are you going to do? Have Saudi Arabia move in but another non-muslim called her stupid and said that wasn't right. We also had clients that were non-muslim hire us to work for them and they were so kind. More curious than judgmental. Really made our heart thankful. Now I refuse to take off hijab. What separates me from others? Are people buying a house or my vanity?

Quran 2:256 There shall be no compulsion in [acceptance of] the religion. The right course has become clear from the wrong. So whoever disbelieves in Taghut and believes in Allah has grasped the most trustworthy handhold with no break in it. And Allah is Hearing and Knowing.

“You cannot guide those you would like to but God guides those He wills. He has best knowledge of the guided.” (Holy Quran/28: 56)

Now approaches the holiday season full of Santas. We don't want to be Grinches. We actually have a good memories taking our son to see the Grinch after he was adopted which fulfilled his first dad's request before his death. We aren't Grinches.  We are just educated and chose a different path. For us everyday is a day of gratitude and trying to be grateful in all things. We are muslim. Muslims don't celebrate Christmas because it isn't Jesus (PBUH) birthday. It is actually winter solstice which is a Pagan holiday. Muslims are not to participate in pagan traditions. We are though required to respect others beliefs and places of worship.

Quran 5:48

And We have revealed to you, [O Muhammad], the Book in truth, confirming that which preceded it of the Scripture and as a criterion over it. So judge between them by what Allah has revealed and do not follow their inclinations away from what has come to you of the truth. To each of you We prescribed a law and a method. Had Allah willed, He would have made you one nation [united in religion], but [He intended] to test you in what He has given you; so race to [all that is] good. To Allah is your return all together, and He will [then] inform you concerning that over which you used to differ.

We know some of our prospects could be those who make allot of money on those holidays. The same can be said for Atheist or any religion who goes to porn, stripper joints, pot outlets, etc. That doesn't mean we have to choose to participate to make money or be accepted. There are others who would do a better job servicing this area. We choose to live Islamic.

“God does not forbid you from being good to those who have not fought you in the religion or driven you from your homes, or from being just towards them. God loves those who are just.” (Surat al-Mumtahana, 8)

22:40 [They are] those who have been evicted from their homes without right - only because they say, "Our Lord is Allah ." And were it not that Allah checks the people, some by means of others, there would have been demolished monasteries, churches, synagogues, and mosques in which the name of Allah is much mentioned. And Allah will surely support those who support Him. Indeed, Allah is Powerful and Exalted in Might.

“God does not love corruption”. (Surat al-Baqara, 205)

We think allot. Islam commands you to do what you can to be just and fair. Fairness to us is respecting others beliefs while holding our own.

“Let not the hatred of a people swerve you away from justice.  Be just, for this is closest to righteousness…” (Quran 5:8)

God does not forbid you from doing good and being just to those who have neither fought you over your faith nor evicted you from your homes...” (Quran 60:8)

“God commands justice and fair dealing...” (Quran 16:90)

God commands you to render trusts to whom they are due, and when you judge between people, judge with justice…” (Quran 4:58)

“Be conscious of God and be just to your children.”

“…Be just, for it is closest to God-consciousness…” (Quran 5:8)

Our goals are not typical probably for a typical white american. We actually in the end would like to get a bachelor degree in Islamic Science to retire serving the muslim community.

If you are a non-muslim and need anything, let us know. We are participating in food banks, coat and blanket charities this month. A Christian asked us if we would come to them if we needed anything. Yes, we would.... We actually are. It is a Christian Healthcare that is providing hospice for my mother. Thank you.

Want to know about our Charity / Foundation?

We decided to finally sell our home next year. Our youngest graduates this year and it is time to move forward on our family goals. Once the house sells one of our goals is to create a charity. We agreed our charity focus will be on Mental Health. We would like to provide counseling, support and/or medicine to those in need through the charity.

We will no longer be homeowners due to Andrew and Cheryl wanting to go back into team trucking after we are no longer needed at home. That was a goal we had before becoming real estate agents but Allah had other plans. We are grateful for all opportunities and hope to build trust to broaden our focus and serve. We might flip some houses along the way, In Sha Allah.

We are taking a tax preparer course for seasonal work and learn more. We both are always excited to learn new things borrowing books from the library and taking classes when we can.

We did  allot of videos on Periscope hoping everyone would get to know us. We are pulling back with this one on our Facebook being the last. We are grateful for everyone we have talked to. Follow us on Twitter for more updates. We will let you know where we are tax preparers if we are allowed to post it, In Sha Allah. We have an awesome instructor. We are so grateful for all her wisdom and time.

Thank you so much for your time reading this blog. Feel free to comment if you have any topics or questions. Message us in private if you need to talk privately. Spam us and we will respond with our website Have a great day!.
